There are many ways you can support Reaching Out Winnipeg. Below, you’ll find information on how you can make an individual donation, corporate donation, or volunteer with us.
ROW works with the United Church of Canada as our official refugee sponsorship agreement holder. Locally, we have the full support of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church as a partner organization. ROW is a secular organization, but due to the complex nature of asylum seeker resettlements, ROW is very fortunate to have the supportive backing of Crescent Fort Rouge.
Individual Donations
Individual donations allow Reaching Out Winnipeg (ROW) to sponsor SOGI asylum seekers here in Winnipeg. If you’re able to financially help, please consider a donation.
Newly sponsored arrivals to Winnipeg are provided financial and social supports for a full year. The costs per person for the year can exceed $20,000. ROW members help with physical and mental health care needs, acquiring English language skills, finding suitable accommodation, employment, as well as the many other steps in the adjustment to a new life in Canada.
Donations can be made to ROW at Canada Helps by selecting “Reaching Out Winnipeg” in the dropdown menu. 100% of your donation goes to ROW.

Fundraising Ideas
Looking to gather your friends and family in helping to raise funds to support an asylum seeker? Here are some of our ideas:
House warming party – Sure, who doesn’t like wine, but that $20 can go a long way in the life of a newcomer.
Birthday go-fund-me campaign – In celebration of you and your birthday, get your friends and family to donate to ROW.
Garage sale – Donate the money you make from your garage sale to ROW.
Spring cleaning – Cleaning our your closet and selling online? Donate the proceeds to ROW.

Corporate Donations

We have developed three levels of financial support, but are of course open to alternative sponsorship relationships.
