Homosexual Chechen men share horrific stories of torture

On Apr 19, 2017 Jerusalem Post Online reported: A few weeks after the horrific reports of the Chechen authorities torturing gay men made international headlines, a few former prisoners who managed to flee the “concentration camps” are sharing their stories. “They started beating me with their fists and feet,” one stated. “Then they tied wires to my hands and put metal clippers on my ears to electrocute me.”

After a Russian newspaper reported that the Chechen authorities rounded up homosexual men and placed them in camps, former prisoners who managed to flee the camps are sharing their horrific stories.

“My car got stopped at a Chechen police checkpoint and they asked me for my documents,” a man who escaped and asked to be identified only as Ahmed told CNN. “They looked at them and said: ‘We are taking you.’”
