On Sep 29, 2016 News Ghana reported: A thirty-one-year-old teacher has been arrested by police in Atebubu for allegedly attempting to have sex with a 19-year-old man.
Joshua Baayi Binbi, is said to have lured the victim through Facebook after the two had become friends through the social media platform.
He was on Tuesday arraigned before the Atebubu Magistrate Court on the count of unnatural canal knowledge and has since been remanded into police custody.
He is to re-appear in court on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
According to the Atebubu District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joseph Dzinaku, the suspect has confessed to the offence and said he has been gay since 2003 whilst he was in senior high school.
Binbi who lives in Kumasi is said to have proposed love to the complainant through Facebook.
The complainant was said to have informed his elder brother who advised that he accepts the proposal so they could get him [Binbi] arrested.
Following the proposal Binbi decided to visit the complainant at Atebubu so they could have sex to seal their relationship to which the complainant agreed to meet him on Saturday.
Consequently, he informed the Police about it and arranged to cause Binbi’s arrest.
